What you study

Career paths

Paths include security operations centre analyst, information-security analyst or engineer, incident response, vulnerability management, governance, risk and compliance, digital forensics, and application or cloud security. Penetration testing requires explicit legal authorisation.

Common misconceptions

Cybersecurity is not mainly hacking; much of the work concerns monitoring, defence, risk management and compliance.
Completing the degree does not instantly create an expert; the field requires practical labs and continuous learning.
