Tawjihi exam day 2026: the Ministry hall rules you need to know
Jordan's Ministry of Education publishes explicit instructions for 2026 secondary-exam candidates. This guide summarizes the current official hall rules instead of repeating generic packing advice that can accidentally tell you to bring prohibited items.
Before the session
- Arrive at least 30 minutes before the exam starts.
- Entry is not allowed after the scheduled start time.
- Do not enter a hall other than the one assigned to you.
- Verify your seat number and hall in advance using the seat-number guide.
Identity document
The instructions require an identity document every exam day. The accepted document depends on the candidate's status:
- Jordanian: civil ID or passport.
- Non-Jordanian: passport.
- Children of Jordanian women: identification card.
- Syrian candidate without a passport: security card.
The identity document is placed on the candidate's desk according to the published rules.
Do you need to print the seat card?
The 2026 instructions state that private-study candidates are not required to print the electronic seat card and receive a paper copy from the hall supervisor on the first exam day they attend.
Pens and supplies: do not follow an old packing list
This is important: the current rules say candidates must not bring their own ink pens or pencils. The Ministry provides a pencil case containing one ink pen, three pencils, an eraser, and a sharpener.
So do not follow an older guide telling you to pack spare pens. Follow the rules for your current session.
Prohibited devices and materials
The current instructions prohibit:
- mobile phones;
- wireless/receiving earphones or similar devices;
- papers related to the exam;
- calculators of all types;
- electronic devices, including watches with a camera or receiver;
- any means used for cheating or that interferes with the exam.

When you receive the paper
- Write your name and seat number only in the designated places.
- Read the note on page one and verify the number of pages and questions.
- For multiple-choice items, the scanner sheet is the official answer record and is shaded with the Ministry-provided pencil.
- When a paper includes both multiple-choice and constructed-response questions, answer the written section in the answer booklet with the provided ink pen as instructed.
- Watch the remaining time and make sure all multiple-choice answers are transferred to the scanner sheet before time ends.
Do not leave with exam documents
The question paper, scanner sheet, and answer booklet are official documents. They cannot be altered, torn, or removed from the exam room. Candidates also remain in the room until the allotted time ends and the required documents are handed in.
What should you actually bring?
Keep it simple:
- The identity document required for your status.
- Your confirmed seat number and hall.
- Enough travel time to arrive at least 30 minutes early.
- Nothing that the current instructions prohibit.
